Disneyland 2012 - The First Bundle of Pics...

This was when we walked onto Main Street after entering Disneyland. I thought for sure that my Angel Pie would freak when Chip walked up, but she was excited to see him.

Here are Flash and Deuce meeting Goofy. They couldn't be happier!

Here are Deuce, Flash, Angel Pie and Twister with Minnie Mouse at the Character Breakfast at the Plaza Inn.

Here is Angel Pie embracing the moment with one of Cinderella's mice. She was in absolute heaven!

More pics to follow this week along with the Letter Dd...

Home Today, Going Here Tomorrow...

It seems like forever since I was last there. If my memory serves me right, the last time I went to Disneyland was when I was very preggers with Deuce. That was a little over 4 years ago.

Neither of my two babies have been there yet, so it will be very exciting. The main reason we will be going is to celebrate my three youngest children's birthdays. This is their gift from Grandpa and Jess. And lucky me, I get to come along for the ride!

I'm looking forward to taking lots of pictures and riding all of the rides with my babies. However, you will not catch me on this...

Nor this...

That's not how I roll. Give me the fastest roller coaster or free falling ride you can find, but I will not set foot on a tea cup or ferris wheel NEVER, EVER AGAIN!

I know, Never Say Never. But in this instance, I mean it! Since being diagnosed with vertigo, I try to avoid all things that make me feel like this...

Uh, no thanks! I really would like to enjoy myself and my children.

We're currently under the weather as we've caught daddy's cold, so I'll be praying that tomorrow will be a better day for all of us.

That said, I will close with this...

Exodus 23:25

New King James Version
(NKJV)

25 “So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.

Pretty Skies...

at basketball practice last night.

It's been a while since I've been able to attend my oldest son's practice sans my three younger children. It was a lot of fun!

Before practice began, I got to shoot around with my son. That was exciting.

I don't remember the last time that I shot hoops... Funny thing is that my son practices at the same park that I grew up playing at. Brought back a lot of cool memories for me.

There were some little girls playing on the swings - twisting as much as they could, then lifting their feet off of the ground to see how fast they'd spin. My sis and I used to do that.

Back in the day before the thought of spinning made me want to hurl and the vertigo diagnosis came into play. Yes, this is now my reality.

Anywho, toward the end of practice, my sis and I began to get cold. We decided to go over to the other hoop and see who could make the first three pointer. I couldn't believe how out of shape I am. My goodness! I remember being able to hit the rim no problem when attempting a three point shot. Last night, it took a while to hit backboard.

My sis got the first one and I got mine shortly thereafter. And another one. And another. Did I mention that I got another one? Yes, I was pretty excited.

It was a fun night. I got to watch my brother coach my son and nephew and I got some much needed exercise. My hips were sore when I got home. Go figure!

HAPPY WEDNESDAY!

Rain, Rain, Go Away...

Come again another day. If I had it my way, probably not. I'm not a huge fan of rain. I know, I know! We need it. I can handle it in small doses.

And not to change the subject (*snicker*), but we have said "Goodbye" to the letter Bb and "Hello" to the letter Cc. I will have to post Deuce and Angel Pie's pics from last week in a separate post, along with their work from this week.

In other news, my hubby fell ill to a severe cold. Poor thing.

On the upside, he was home from work today trying to recover. With him being home, he got to see the kids and I in action while I homeschooled them.

He thought it was amazing what I was doing with them and how receptive they were to it. His feedback was very gratifying to me. It was just what I needed to hear.

There are two homeschooling conventions coming up. One in early Feb and the other in late May. Unfortunately, I will be unable to attend the one in February due to a previous engagement. Bummer!

Then again, maybe not. Because the hubby and I will be in...

Vegas Baby!!!

You read right. I will however, be able to attend the Great Homeschool Convention in Long Beach, CA at the end of May. Hip Hip Hooray!!!

Until Next Time,
Jaime

Happy Go Lucky - Where Did You Go???

Last week was probably the best I've felt in a long time. I was happy. I found my groove. The kids were really taking to their homeschool. I was getting everything that I needed to get done here on the home front, including giving my hat a break and doing my hair and makeup. Something that I haven't done in months. I was finally creeping out of my funk.

I went from feeling like this...

To this...

To doing this around 3 something this morning...

It's really amazing how certain events of a day can change your mood from "Woo Hoo!" to "Sob, sniffle, sniffle, sob."

The culprit - Bill Pay. It can really be a mood killer.

Even though I had a momentary lapse early this morning, I'm not going to let it bring me down any further.

It won't overcome me.

I will continue to pray to the Lord for strength and encouragement. And know in my heart that he will come through for me as he always has. And that he will continue to bless my family in every aspect of our lives.

Psalm 55:22

New King James Version
(NKJV)

22 Cast your burden on the LORD,
         And He shall sustain you;
He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.

Busy Monday...

Okay, so I'm no longer breastfeeding. Nor do I own a cat or dog. However, I am the mother of four young individuals with a mind of their own.

And today was an interestingly busy day to say the least because it was the first day of learning the Letter Bb. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to prep for today's work yesterday, so I had to do it all this morning. We didn't begin until after lunchtime.

There was printing of activities, laminating, cutting, removal of last week's wall postings and the placing of this week's wall postings. On top of that, today is a holiday - Martin Luther King, Jr. Day - and my two oldest were home from school.

I had to print some extra activities for my first grader because he loves school and of course, wanted to participate. He is a sponge and can't get enough learning.

Just last week he was crying because he said that he needs to learn more than what he's learning at school. This was brought on because I began homeschooling my two younger children. Later that evening after they'd all been put to bed, he must have had a bad dream because I heard him crying. When I went to check on him, I asked him if he was okay. He responded with, "I need to learn more!" I just shook my head and told him to lay back down and go to sleep.

Kids say the funniest things don't they?!

It's The Friday Rewind...

Our first week just flew by. And to my surprise, homeschool went amazingly well. The Letter Aa is now a thing of the past and we will be moving on to the Letter Bb. Here are some pictures from our last 2 days of learning the Letter Aa...

Deuce and Angel Pie had a very productive week. They both learned the Letter Aa and it's sounds, memorized their Bible Verses, read their short story - Who Ran Away?, their Spanish Aa Words for the week and so much more... I couldn't be prouder of them!

Letter of the Week - Letter Aa...

We began our first day of homeschool yesterday and it went off without a hitch. My 2 little ones couldn't get enough of it. They wanted more! For my Deuce, I'm using Confessions of a Homeschooler's - Letter of the Week Curriculum and for Angel Pie, I'm using 1+1+1=1's - Tot School Printables along with Totally Tots - Songs For Saplings for her Bible Study.

Here are some pictures of them in action...
