The Jesse Tree...

I realize it has been a while since my last post but I just had to share what my children and I are studying during the month of December. Carisa over at the blog - 1+1+1=1 is offering an ebook titled The Jesse Tree along with Calendar Connections Cards for free during the month of December when you subscribe to her blog.

It is a wealth of information on the Advent Season and filled with daily scripture. My children are really enjoying it. So much so that they want me to go on to the next day.

If you would like to see a preview of it's contents, go here:

I'm Back From Conference...

I took a week off of blogging to attend and focus on my church, Praise Chapel Fullerton's Limitless Harvesters Conference. It was my first conference and completely amazing! We had pastors from other PC churches along with our own that spoke and their messages were quite powerful.

On the first night, Pastor Sergio De La Mora spoke about a Limitless Heart and continued the following morning on Limitless Leadership. He made some great points that really stood out to me such as:

  • Limitations test your character.
  • Everybody wants to arrive but nobody wants to take the trip.
  • If you want to grow, you have to be willing to change.
  • Everything rises and falls with leadership.
  • As soon as you convince yourself that you can't do more, you won't.
  • Your future growth is found in your present stronghold.
  • Whatever you're afraid to give away is the very thing that is holding you back.
  • We need to learn to be competitive without a competitive spirit.
  • The children aren't our future. Our future is in the parents that lead their children.
  • You reap what you sow.

It's a lot to take in, I know. I took pages of notes while there and I'm so glad that I did. I hope some of what I've written here today resonates and stays with you. I will share more tomorrow...

Jaime

Mark 10:13-16
New King James Version (NKJV)
Jesus Blesses Little Children

13 Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them. 14 But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. 15 Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.” 16 And He took them up in His arms, laid His hands on them, and blessed them.

MAY YOU HAVE A BLESSED WEEKEND,

Bedtime Reading...

Last night, I read A Wing and a Prayer to my children and they really enjoyed it. It was very engaging to them which made me happy.

The story is about a little boy Raimundo, who finds a new home, a new hope and a new faith in Christ after losing both of his parents in a raid. After receiving an unexpected gift from a boy that can relate, the life-changing message of Jesus' love is revealed.

It's definitely a great read and I highly recommend it!

And Joshua of course, wanted to read a bedtime story to his siblings, so he read My First Book of Friendship Prayers. It's a little board book offering prayers for friends and very endearing.

After story time, we proceeded with our nightly prayer followed by bedtime. We say this prayer with our children every night before bed...

Our Children's Bedtime Prayer

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.

If I should go before I wake,
I pray the Lord my soul to take.

Amen.

LOVE & BLESSINGS,
Jaime
